Biography

Sarah Margaret Qualley (born on October 23, 1995), known as Margaret Qualley, is an American model and actress. She is mostly well-known for portraying Jill Garvey on the HBO hit series, The Leftovers.

Qualley was born in Montana and is the daughter of actress Andie MacDowell and former model, Paul Qualley. She has a sister Rainey, who is also an actress, dancer and model.

Growing up in Asheville, North Carolina, she was a debutante along with her sister. Margaret made her debut at the Bal des débutantes in Paris. She had trained as a ballerina and earned an apprenticeship at the American Ballet Theatre and studied at New York’s French Academy. At the age of 17, Margaret got an offer to attend the North Carolina Dance Theater company. She changed her focus to acting and decided to attend London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

In 2011, at the age of 16, Margaret made her modelling debut during New York Fashion Week for Alberta Ferretti. She is signed with IMG Models and Uno Models Barcelona.

In 2013, Margaret first appeared on screen in the film Palo Alto, playing a small role. In June 2013, she was cast as a regular in The Leftovers.

Since June 2014, Margaret attends New York University.
